depends on the dealer. Unless the car is absolute shit a dealer will usually keep it instead of taking it to the auction or selling it wholesale. Now, a lot of the times they ask too much for a car like some Z's or high end cars and cant get rid of them So when the car has been there for too long without a sale then they sell it at an auction where another dealer who thinks he has a shot to sell it will do so.
